You may soon be able to fly more cheaply from Europe to Asia.

Tony Fernandes, Malaysian entrepreneur, runs budget no-frills airline AirAsia.

Fernandes, educated at Epsom College and the London School of Economics, was the financial controller for Richard Branson's Virgin Records in London from 1987 to 1989.

AirAsia is 'one of Asia’s leading low cost carriers' and was the first airline in the world to introduce SMS flight booking and was the first airline in Asia to introduce ticketless travel.

Air Asia flies to over 40 destinations within Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Macau, China, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

It was awarded Asia’s best budget airline in 2006 by

AirAsia plans soon to fly from the UK, Europe, China, India and the Middle East.
